The Trim Tab Approach to Politics
Borrowing from Buckminster Fuller, here's a new approach in politics that can work for independent candidates
“And there’s a tiny thing on the edge of the rudder called a trim tab. It’s a miniature rudder. Just moving that little trim tab builds a low pressure that pulls the rudder around. It takes almost no effort at all. So I said that the individual can be a trim tab. Society thinks it’s going right by you, that it’s left you altogether. But if you’re doing dynamic things mentally, the fact is that you can just put your foot out like that and the whole ship of state is going to turn around. So I said, ‘Call me Trim Tab.’”

The trim tab approach to politics is changing a small but important piece in politics and it causes bigger things to happen.
For example, coming in 2nd or 3rd place in the popular vote, still winning the electoral college while also creating a political wedge in the Senate and House.
With 39-52M votes and about $2,500,000,000, you can change the American political system. Will it fix all of our problems? No. But it will allow us to take a breath and maybe fix a few problems. If we just stop creating new problems and fix a few problems every few years, we would be in a much better position.
While it seems impossible to turn the ship and really tough to turn the rudder, if we can just turn the trim tab, then good things will start to happen.
